  W  Underwater Weapons

  By the time the 1953 Coronation review took place, the SUBMARINE DETECTOR branch had become the TORPEDO and ANTI-SUBMARINE branch with the following branch badge.


  The Torpedo Branch were the original naval electricians.


  Whilst the badges below belong to the Gunnery Branch, the rules below are relevant to the TAS branch. By substituting the TAS badge with the crossed guns, you can see what the badges looked like.



  C.P.O., P.O., and confirmed Leading Ratings qualified as Gunnery, T and AS, Radar Plot, Wireless, Signalling Instructors and Staff Physical and Recreational Training Instructors wear a crown and two stars.


  In the 1977 Review programme, again, just this one badge was shown which was the same as at the 1953 review.
